I think this is the first time I’ve been this “busy” on purpose. I’ve got so many projects working on (REALLY working on) at the time. For the first time, I feel like days don’t have enough hours. It’s as if all the ideas and dreams I’ve collected during the past years are finally all emerging and connecting.
The main ones: braca-montes.com which it’s obviously this website. I need to get this site up and running.
braca-montes is like the motherload from where everything originates. Basically, the production studio. An idea generator. Braca-montes will produce popular youtube videos (I’m talking thousands & million views). It will also consist of a “caught on cell” section. Random thoughts. The influence of coincidences & synchronicity in my life. Some stand up lines i’ve written. Photography. Designs.
Basically, own creations plus links to stuff i find amusing.
Another one is simplinimal advertising. Simplinimal is (or willl become) my advertising agency. It was created as result of all my bitchin’ towards the abundant mediocre advertising out there. As Henry Ford once said, “Don’t find fault, find a remedy.” I want to help like-minded and local clients increase their business for basically nothing. I’m not interested in profit right now, but more about showing what I can do and building my portfolio. The satisfaction of opening a magazine and seeing my work, driving by a billboard I designed or knowing that I exceeded my clients’ expectations is more than enough.
And don’t forget iumi dee jay, dj eoomee, iumi dj. The beginning of my dj career. I don’t know what took me so long, but i had always been interested in dj’ing and electronic music. More so after my semester in The Netherlands. I would just “air dj”, pretending to do it, but never dared to buy equipment or look more into it. Not until April or so of 07. I know, it’s really not much but I feel way more ahead than others (Just as when I started playing drums at a music school in my town and 4 weeks later I was better than a guy who was playing there for a year).
And so far so good. I set up a goal to start having my weekends busy (playing at parties/events) beginning February and I have the first 2 Fridays booked already. It is really hard to describe the feeling between dj & (a good) crowd when they are into your mix.
Why iumi? I’ve debated about my dj name for weeks, but I came to the conclusion that many people know me by my nickname: yumi/yumy. Which in english is pronounced somehing like u-me, or as i put it e-oo-mee.
So this are just the main projects. As you see, they will be all connected in a way to each other. My main objective now is to create enough content and to leave everything organized/categorized and layed out before it starts to get huge. It’ll be easier that way.
P.S. Add to it the sub-project ideas I want to work on & the fact that I have a day job, with many deadlines to hit. Im building a website/blog for mom (it’s a secret) where I’ll post all her artwork. Also 2 other websites for clients. And I’m middle of moving houses.
